On Sunday mornings, my wife and I often take a walk to Ken’s Artisan Bakery, pickup a beautiful pastry (my wife says the croissants are the best in town) then order a coffee at Sterling Coffee Roasters on NW 21st.  Around the corner on NW Flanders, sits a beautifully restored apartment building that is on the historic register.

I really like how the owners upgraded the previously run down house, they did a great job matching all the upgrades to the neighborhood.  I believe the owners built a duplex in back of the apartments.

Since the apartments are on the historic register, the owners are receiving tax breaks.  Typically, owners of properties on the Historic Register are required to have open houses once a year for the general public to view, I would love to see the inside!

Apparently, the house cat “Oliver” was chosen to be the official greeter of the house, did the owners match the colors of the house to the cat or was it the other way around?!
