Survey Finds CRE Investors Refocusing On Strategy as Fog of Uncertainty Begins to Lift

It is no secret that 2012 proved to be a banner year for the multifamily industry. Demand for apartments continued to grow despite new units coming online. According to MPF Research, rents grew across the US by 3%, which is well above the long-term normal 2.5% growth in previous decades. National occupancy was also up from 94.7% at the end of 2011 to 94.9% now.
All signs clearly point towards a strong, healthy apartment market, and we believe this trend will continue well

into 2013 and beyond.

4th Quarter & Year End Transaction Summary

We are pleased to announce that in the 4th Quarter of 2012, we represented 53% of investors with apartment transactions among other commercial real estate firms.
In addition, in 2012 we continued to close more apartment transactions than any other firm. We attribute our success to our award-winning customer service and superior market expertise.
4th Quarter Transaction Highlights:
  • Total Transactions: 51 (up 36% from Q4 2011)
  • Total Units Sold: 2,312 (up 39% from Q4 2011)
  • Total $ Volume: $189,243,487 (up 10% from Q4 2011)
  • Avg. $/Unit in Portland: $88,549 (down 5% from Q4 2011)
  • 84% of transactions had 5-50 units
